Inkabee stepped into triple j’s Like A Version studio for the first time this week and chose a song with a clear message. For his debut in the long-running segment, the young Noongar Wongi rapper performed the Black Eyed Peas hit Where Is the Love? and paired it with a live take on his own track Vibez.
During the session, Inkabee explained that the cover was not his original pick. The idea changed after he heard the song while driving with his mum, and he felt its message fit the current moment. He also pointed to one lyric as a personal standout, saying it connected strongly with his own community.
The appearance adds another milestone to his fast-rising career. At 13, Inkabee is now the youngest artist to perform on Like A Version, and the set also marked his first time playing with a full band. He said the experience opened the door to doing more live band performances in the future.
